Pikouri:

Very nice, even if i think you should have stop in 2005 ;-)
Maybe if you have time you could tell what you did, what kind of trainning.
See you.

he should have stopped at the end of 2003, imho :)

Bob:

Quite impressive. You should post your training regiment. The first four months were especially impressive.

D:

Its fake. photoshopped. look at all the heads in 2004, the're all the same with slight variation. doable in photoshop...

jimbo jones:

wow, this is very inspirational. thanks!

Facao:

Man, stop taking shit! Looks like someone's filled you with compressed air, doh!!

Ron:

what happened after 4/6/04? after that month, you started to lose the muscle definition.

Very impressive, I have a similar set of photos. I do have one question though, where did the hair come from?

Alan:

He looked best in the 4th pic, lost the gut, that's all he needed to do really

JGiles:
joe:

can anyone say "barry bonds"? hahaha

Yea definitely. This is a 'proof' to the concept of working out - and some techniques and methods used would be of value.

jonnie jabloski:

At which poin did you get on the roids ?

Glenn:

credit for the hard work man, but likewise i'd love to know what kind of workout you started on and the differences between that and what you were doing at the end

Fredster:

Wow - that's a lot of different underwear.

Wow, a lot of people are falling for some really cheesy photoshop. That's kind of sad, since it's obviously this one guy's face pasted on 40 some different bodies. The colors aren't even the same!

Pretty funny gag, i guess, since people totally fell for it.

a/c:

Something's fishy. Either this guy has an almost superhuman ability to take the exact same photo every time or there's some photoshopping going on. (3/04 and 4/04 are good examples. Laid out in Photoshop, his face is in the exact same position.)

Also, if this is real, he's clearly juicing. 6/03 or so shows a probable maximum natural fitness on his frame. Around 2005, he starts gaining mass at an incredible rate. Plus, as happened with Barry Bonds, his head grows inexplicably.

Bro - if this is legit It looks like your training regime inclues getting on the gear towards the end of every year then cutting down as you get closer to summer.

Look at your bloat and the gains you make in only a couple of months at the end of 04,05 and 06 (in contrast to the gains you make at any other time during the year)

So, if these pics are fake, you need to get better at photoshop and if its legit I hope you have read about the effects of long-term steroid use.

Dev:

I'd highly recommend checking out the JSF website for all the training info you could ever need. No smoke and mirrors, just hard work and dedication to better health and fitness.

Ozh:

Fourth month in first year looks the best. After that, it gets ugly, then stays ugly, then suddenly gets worse to uber patheticly ugly.

Anonymous:

Yeah, he certainly should've stopped it, when he looked fit'n lean - not some steroid-pumped gorilla

Syllogism:

You looked best on 6/8/2004

After that you got to big, it doesn't suit you. All definition is now gone.

Would you describe your diet for the first half a year?

J:

For all the haters (aka as jealous fools), I direct you to this thread that will dispel your cheesy criticisms.

The guy is legit... now get over it.

Justitia:

Hey! I have been a member of JohnStoneFitness.com for almost 3 years. This is a non-commercial health & fitness community; many of us long-timers have become personal friends. We meet annually for a "cheat" meal down in John's home town. I assure you: no roids or anything else in his regimen. He posts daily his food and his workout. His poses are to show how his muscles have developed. There are a number of well-known body-builders too, contest winners who are completley "natural" demonstrated regularly by tests. Different ones advise John at different points. I am a 59 yo female. I too made a transformation though not as dramatically and as successfully as John (lack the discipline :-) ). There are many women there who have too. See this thread: http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showthread.php?t=10747 (Fit Women over 42...) and many other threads there showing members of the community making fitness part of their daily life. Men who weighed 350 lbs and now could be in a rock band. Women with bodies distorted by pregnancy who now have some of the sexiest abs and butts. We all use training methods based on the same principles that Jessica Simpson used to get her bod hot for "Dukes of Hazzard." Come on by, not commercial, great people, no flaming allowed, just regular decent folks spanning 16 yo to 64 yo, all educational, career and professional levels. We support each other in our fitness goals and we help out each other with advice in every other aspect of our lives when anyone needs it. You can get hold of your health and your life too.

Wow, I'm impressed. You have a great body. You must be glad as well, because you start smiling from 8-6-2004.
Well done.

Hobbes:

check out his site before making assumptions. He's cutting (leaning out) after doing a winter bulk. His diet and training regiment is fully described on his website

i think you were most attractive in the middle and i don't like shaved torsos, they aren't fun to touch.

rick:

The funny thing is he had boobs 1/6/03 and 4 years latter he still has them (but they are a little firmer).

dtox:

he had to have taken all sorts of supplements and pills. you can get that kind of muscle definition without it.

Anonymous:

impressive at first... but then you started looking bloated and lost the six pack.

dajebus:

ummm he should have stopped a long time ago! lol

is it me or does he get a really stupid look on his face by the end of it??

car:

WOW, Amazing

juicer:

You can see at 11/6/04 he starts hitting the juice and magically he fills out. Thats why its an attractive option for a lot of people, you really can't blast past your body type until you juice it.

blee:

Nice job but it looks like you really need to start doing some heavy shrugs to do your traps.

Akshay:

Wut kind of steriods u been using buddy?

Jared:

Hahaha, recovering from a hernia operation. Should have stopped after 5 months. Fuck it, chicks dig man boobs.

ILIAS HUBAVECAA:

YESTO BULGARIA HAAAAA :)

Francois:

He probably went bald between 4/6/2003 and 5/6/2003 from the sudden steroids intake.

JO:

I really don't think this is photoshopped. I looked at the ones in question, and the faces are very alike, but the hair is different. Plus, its the same guy! so his face will be very much the same in some of the photos, in each he gives the same trying to take a shit face.
the question is, when did he start juicing? Id say just before new years, 2005.

new_personality_05:

I just have to laugh when I see some of the comments on here. It's hard to take--or let me rephrase that--I can't take some of these comments seriously at all.
A lot of ignorant people assume that if you eat healthy ,train your rear-end off in the gym, and gain mass that you are taking steroids. I bet some of you who are making those comments are jealous of the gains and progress he's made. I bet some of you haven't been in a gym for more than a week. I know some of you don't understand bodybuilding or the science of it at all. You do not know what it likes to train heavy for months on end. People say that he loses definition after a certain amount of time. Well, that tends to happen when you are BULKING...duh!

Vemrion, what you say about 40 different bodies is interesting...one day maybe you can find me 40 different people who are willing to stand in almost the same position in just their boxers and have it posted for the public to see, oh what a great gag! (sarcasm)

D, just because you CANNOT see the differences does not mean that others can't.

a/c, there's noting superhuman about it. It is something called CONSISTENCY.

Juicer, maybe the reason he's looking fuller is because he is on a particular phase...it's something called a bulking phase.

Some people like to have mass and muscles on them rather than be skinny punks who presuppose the use of steroids for every muscular Joe they come across.

His hair is changing and his smile is changing over the pictures so its not realy fake :)

Joe:

Those of you accusing this guy of juicing are horribly incorrect. The type of change he is seeing over 4 years is not uncommon. The guy is simply eating like a horse.

I personally started weight training in January and have personally gained 22 pounds in that time without juicing. Stick to proper nutrition, and getting enough calories while training well, and you will see results like this.

Good job to the owner of this blog!

G:

too bloated in the end or its just the cycle?

Brad:

Trust me, as an amateur bodybuilder, growth like that wouldn't come from steroids. Steroid users are much bigger after 4 years. When I began body building I went from an athletic 170 to nearly 190 in little more than 3 months. People who don't lift much will see large gains fairly quickly. Congrats to John on turning his physical appearance around. I'm sure he is enjoying the many benefits of bodybuilding.

scandium:

So in 5/2003 he goes to tanning booth and starts rubbing oil on himself.

John Von Auerbach:

Just checking to see how you are handling the delts and traps. Unfortunately, I too am a former "normy" and I spent the last 4 years completely transforming my body and making HUGE gains.

One thing that always helped me was Shark Cartilage...you might not be familiar with it.

One thing I've always had trouble with is repping through the burn. I've tried pretty much everything from creatine to thinking about my friend's wife, but nothing has given me that ability to rip through the burn.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

John Von Auerbach

stephanie:

I like Nov 04 the best

Alpine:

Francois:

Rapid dieting can cause pretty noticeable hair loss too. Androgens can cause it but as you see, it bounces back once he starts bulking again.

I do suspect some possible androgen use though. His jaw line is much more pronounced after the period. At times, he also makes some pretty drastic lean muscles increases in short periods.

Finasteride/Minox can be quite effective for hair if you're only using Testosterone.

Anonymous:

wow. just found this page as a link off of OFFTOPIC.
great work ! keep it up !
amazing improvement.

Dine:

It's a pitty... you should have stopped at 11/6/2004...

Kevin:

Gee... I guess working out also makes you tan :)

singer:

How does this guy manage to turn into such a porker every winter?

Joe:

He is legit, and thats natural. He gets fatter during the winter, cause thats when you put on the most mass "bulking" ...then cut down for months when people see you without clothes...It breaks the monotony of bodybuilding.

He did and is doing a great job.

Anonymous:

Нинада на стироиды налигатъ.

Boo:

"How does this guy manage to turn into such a porker every winter?"

He does a bulk every winter then cuts for summer.

I have to say, I find this post extremely interesting and encouraging. I have always wanted to do something similar to this, except that I typically go hard for about 4-5 months and then stop training for 4.. and that pattern has kind of stuck.

I think it's fantastic he was able to get these kinds of results, and I really do believe it was just the result of hard work. I have quite a few friends who have had similar gains themselves and I know for a fact they don't use steroids or supplements outside whey protein.

That being said, I would actually like to see a similar photoset of what is known as a "hard-gainer", or somebody who is skinny but has a hard time putting on bulk. I have to say I think us hard-gainers have a harder time getting results than those who have a hard time keeping their weight down as this guy did in the beginning.

Interesting:

I think the real impressive stuff is what he managed to accomplish in the first 8 months.

Going from a regular flabby guy to super-cut and muscular in such a short time is a much more inspiring accomplishment than 4 years to a bulked-up, bodybuilder type in 4 years. (For most people at least)

Chad:

Wish I had the discipline that guy does. Would definately be content with the late 2004 body. The 2006 and 2007 photos, he is just too bulky.

lcs:

sterydy.

jono:

ya mate love the pic's well done.keep up the hard work.

Alex:

Awesome, you've got good will mate!

krinkle:

after the 07/04 picture:
"hey, jim, you should smile more... just a thought."

Fake faker:

These are completely fake. I'm sure a guy could transform himself but why the need to use the same head on a different body? If you are disciplined enough to work out and eat right for 4 years, why can't you just take real pics?

Kraay:

Dude...well done ! :)

Big boy blue:

This guy is being photoshopped
period. Its so obvious! look at the pictures closely, you can see little edges in a straight line. Let me ask, how is it possible to have a perfectly straight chin???

It looks like this! __

If you don't believe me, fine then.

werwer:

fukin sick at the end

Chris:

Mhm,

let me add my two cents from a female perspective...
the transition from the beginning to 5/6/2003 is very impressive, and 5/6/2003 is no doubt a hot male physique. Not sure the extreme tan in that second row of pictures is necessary, but eh whatever.
Anything that comes after that is pretty sick. 7/6/2003 looks like he hasn't eaten in a week, or (more likely as I know bodybuilders do this) not drank any water for days before taking that picture.
Hint: the transparent-skin-pulled-taut-over-bulging-muscle look looks like ass.
The pictures after that are okay (though the nice sixpack does fade, although I won't complain since I don't like men fixating on my tits either), until about 03/04 when the athletic look changes into the steroid look.
Yes, he might not actually have been taking steroids, guess what? It doesn't matter. The idea is to look fit and toned, not like you spend hours every day in a neon lit room uselessly defying gravity.
Plus, the bulky look looks like ass. Especially in the bottom two rows where it looks like he gained all his fat back, just spread out over bulky muscles underneath.
Conclusio: I'll take a runner over a bodybuilder any day.

james:

excellent job. now tell us the workouts used starting from the beginning, please.

jake3988:

Obviously I can tell none of you workout nor looked at his amazing site (I've gone there on and off since he started).

He looks fuller because its called 'bulking' and looks more cut because of 'cutting'. Notice every few months he gets bigger and bigger then for a few months gets more and more toned.

He hasn't changed in 3 years really except for putting a lot of bulk behind the muscle. But... you HAVE to workout to maintain. Its impossible otherwise. That's basically what's happened.

Rhea:

Just proves to me that no matter what you do, chicken calves stay with you.

Coocoo:

He had a hernia and started shaving his legs!

AsdfQwerty:

Huh? Why does the header say "13 pics"? There are 48 photos here.

Luke:

Wow, lay off the juice!

Anonymous:

D said "Its fake. photoshopped. look at all the heads in 2004, the're all the same with slight variation. doable in photoshop..."

Do you realize how retarded this is? This would require having a series of training pictures with the body improving regardless of whos head is put on there.

The Seeer:

I hate to brake the news to all of you...
This is one of the best Aprils fools jokes I have seen this year.
(NOT "Photoshoped" but "PhotoImpacted" :)
Good job. Roids Rule.

TheRLG:

His transformation was impressive, but as you can tell, he was aiming for more mass than just looking "slim." He will probably end up toning down the mass now that he's gained it, for a slimmer, fuller look like that seen in 300.

Yes, you can get a tan that quickly. You can also lose and gain little bits of weight that quickly as well. The pictures are different, even if only slightly. It's real, it's realistic (nobody said it's perfect), and it's lots of hours pumping weights.

Pete Madison:

Hey man, Good job, where did all you leg hair go?

If these are photoshopped there how did he find 40 bodies all with such weird knees (no offence to the poster)

jimbo:

OBVIOUS PHOTOSHOP!!!!

Dave:

Nearly everyone who has commented on steriods and supplements in this thread is an idiot. You shouldn't speak about things you know nothing about. What are all your assumptions based on? What you see in the news about barry bonds? He looks like he gained about 25 lean pounds in 4 years. just over 6lbs a year by my guess, not impossible at all. Unnatural? There is no way to tell for sure but it is certainly attainable naturally.

Chris:

Not everything on the internet is fake morons!

Look at his belly button! It's got the same shape in each picture!

jim:

Yes, it's fake.

annoymous:

looks like someones photoshoppin or your a roid freek looks like you lost ur muscle definition if its real IMO

hmmm:

work the traps. please. would look a lot better with traps. anyway thats my 0.02.

Anonymous:

It looks like you suffered liver failure after month four and became jaundice as well has losing hair.

Were there diet pills involved?

bastos:

He should have slowed down August 2003 and continue with just maintenance of his body. This would allow for other tissue to heal because that gets damages badly with such training.

Tucker Holmes:

what the fuck was that!!!!!!!!!!!

tanya:

There is nothing more unattractive than a manufactured body. Being fit and happy is attractive. Being obsessed is not. Should have stopped at pic3

Alexus Corner:

I've only got one thing to say to this; ANABOLA!

Hi,

Those are my photos, and I'd like to thank everyone for their comments and clear up a few things.

First, I've never used steroids, growth hormones or any other kind of "bodybuilding drug". I'm totally opposed to steroids, and I believe in the benefits of healthy, natural bodybuilding.

I'd also like to assure everyone that none of the photos are fake or altered in any way. My number one goal has always been to accurately track my progress as openly an honestly as possible.

I have all my training information, diets, photos, videos and tons of other information about my transformation posted on my site. I invite anyone who's interested to check that stuff out.

You'll see on my forums that my transformation is far from unique. Anyone can transform their body and health. All I did that was maybe a little different from most was document my transformation in great detail.

Thanks again for the comments. :)

Chris:

to clarify again...

I've grasped the concept of "bulking", I'm not an idiot. I'm saying it's a stupid thing to do.
Also, agreed with tanya on manufactured bodies.

Burger:

Look, He's in his bulking on phase again and when you on're bulking up, you gain both muscle and fat and with fat you lose your abs.

Low Body fat = ABS.

Nice work, man. I'm going to start a blog right now documenting my progress.

Reno_1ted:

To all those doubters, and people who call photoshop, heres an idea, why not try actually having a look through his site. www.johnstonefitness.com. That details his food logs, workouts and even a personal news post every day since the start. Thats a lot of effort to go to just to produce a fake set of pictures so all you out of shape morons can sit on your fat asses infront of your PC and discuss what type of body you wish you had and make yourself feel better by believeing that change is not possible without trickery or magic pills. Guess what, it is.

Anyone who thinks he is on roids clearly knows nothing about steriods or body building. It is so obvious from his pics that he is natural.

And his six pack faded because he has been bulking, which because there are no roids involved, means you eat like a horse to gain muscle. The past few years, he has not lost as much fat as he did in the first phase. His new goal is to get back down to that low body fat level, which he should hit in a few months. The six pack will then have returned. But hey, you all know this right, coz you all know so much about him??

Read the site and forums in detail before posting your pointless and illeducated comments.

stephen:

Wow. Half of these fat and ugly newbs think you're using steroids.
Then that fat cow is jealous because you're probably better looking than her and her boyfriend(if she has one) put together. These people obviously know NOTHING about natural bodybuilding. I am glad you never stopped after ANY picture. You actually look like a MAN now. People think that just because you workout and eat right you're in love with yourself. I'm a natural bodybuilder, and guess what? I only spend 4-5 hours a week in the gym! Thats only 4, sometimes 5, days one hour at a time, Ihave a great life, a great g/f, I'm not in love with myself, and I don't look like a little girl!
keep up the good work bro'. Half of these skinny fat news could learn a thing or two from you.

Blake:

Addressing some of the comments:

- this is standard physique improvement with slow and steady CONSISTENT gains, I see no reason at all to claim steroids were used.

- you don't have to spend hours and hours in a gym to accomplish this. One hour, three times is all you need for the defacto mass-building routine, Bill Starr's 5x5 - squat, bench, power clean and deadlift. Thats it. Lift heavy, eat lots, get big.

- yes this is a manufactured body, he put in the hard work to accomplish his goals. This isn't something you can just buy at the mall. Lean "toned" looking people also manufacture that look with hard work. Those who don't work hard remain skinny-fat their whole lives. Don't believe the lies of Oxygen Magazine people... changing your body composition takes hard work and consistency

- all you commenters that prefer a skinny body... thats cool, but is it too difficult to acknowledge hard work, even if you don't personally enjoy the aesthetics? I don't like marathon running by my hat is off to anyone who can run that far.

- To John Stone - kudos on the hard work.

ChuFuu:

Very nice. Any chance of posting up your training regiment? Reminds me of the Sparta training results for 300...

Szymon:

WOW man..... I cannot believe you all falling for this. It is SO obviously a Photoshop gag it's unbelieveable.....

Are you people for real???

John Jackson:

I find it really strange all the commenters saying he looked the best in the pics where he looks emaciated. Is everyone anorexic these days, even dudes?

Anonymous:

You needn't approve this for the website, it's just a comment for you the site owner. It looks like you hit the roids some time late 2005 - i might be wrong, but you start to get that bloated look around then and maybe you'd plateaud for a bit before then. you looked better before then in my opinion. congratulations on what you've done with yourself.

Anonymous:

In 4 years John's gone from 215 lbs and 30% fat to 208 lbs and 10.7% fat, for a gain in lean body mass of 36 lbs.

Who in their right mind would imagine that required steroids? I gained a little more than that in a similar period without steroids and without supplements. What's the big deal?

I mean I'd be suspicious if he'd gained 136 lbs of LBM, but 36? Don't be ridiculous, anybody can do it.

nastik:

you look great

billbass:

Fake and juicer. I am a bodybuilder and there is no way someone can get that big without the juice. And I am not just being a hater, that is just reality.

jj:

Why would he have to have used steroids. Looks like a slow natural gain to me. Usually with steroids you get over developed traps. Good job man, keep up the hard work!

Zac:

I am stunned that there are so many muppets out there that take a look and bad mouth without researching first.

I was sceptical when I saw this but read his site and you will understand what he is doing and how he has done it.

He goes through a cycle of bulking and cutting which means putting on fat and muscle so he looks bloated at times and by his own admission he put on too much fat at the end of 2006. Then he sheds the fat to reveal his muscle gains.

He has a straight forward workout routine and diet with which he has achieve these results over 4 years. If he was using steroids then why not go for something much bigger much faster I have seen it done.

As for the photoshop accusations I recommend eye tests if you look closely you will see differences in shadows and hair as well as the eyes which are more or less closed in each photo. Again if people bother to read his site you will understand how he takes his photos and one of his goals is to make them look the same so he can see his results clearly.

Please read his site before making stupid comments.

Zac

N:

Congratulations John

EH:

That is truly inspiring! I'm getting my ass to the gym tonight!

KLU:

Looks like the drug use came in the first 6 mo. and maybe again recently. The amount of muscle density and BF% leads me to believe there was assistance early on. His lack of traps shows little use, if any, through most of the photos except towards the end. He has done an amazing job but has used gear!

Daan Smit:

This is not photoshopped, look for example at the hand positions. Nice progress!

It's funny how he started shaving his chest after 4 months and his legts in 3/05, and how arrogant he looks near the end XD.

gomez81:

Ok here are my reasons why i think he used steroids. BTW, I've used steroids on/off for 5 years now, so I know what im talking bout. I also think he didnt take large amounts of steroids like pro bodybuilders use. They usuaylly stack 3 drugs for 5 months which runs them into several thousand dollars. Seems to me like this guy just did a cycle of one type of steroid. And now, on to the analysis:

1.) Notice the transformation from 5/6/2003 to 6/6/2003 - he gets insanely shredded. You cannot get this shredded just withing a week or let alone six months. He keeps his shredded look for 4 months and then starts losing his vascularity. The end of his cycle. My guess, he took a cutting steroids, probably winstrol since it doesnt aromatize which means he doesnt get the side effect like man boobs, acne, hair loss.

2.) From 10/6/2003 on until 4/6/2004, i believe he is working out naturally. He has gone through his winstrol cycle and starts losing his vascularity. No more do we see his six pack like in the 7/6/2003, he starts losing definition. He chest is no longer defined as it is in the 7/6/2003. We see no growth for 6 months. In fact we see him regress to a smaller size.

3.) He suffers from Hernia. hernia is caused when one exerts to much pressue when liftin and rip their abdominal walls. Hernia is a very comman injury for bodybuilders who juice. Now he does not state what type of hernia he had, either abdominal or inguinal(scrotum ripped). Since I cannot see an abdominal scar, Im guessing inguinal. Hernia is not directly linked to steroid use, but it is a common ailment among steroids users - mostly becuase steroids cause tendons and ligaments to weaken in direct contrast to the gain in muscle mass and strength. Ligaments and tendons do not strengthen and as you get stronger and liftin heavy weights adds undue pressue on the tendon and ligaments, sometimes causing them to tear or rip off the bone... I tore my left pectoral in this manner.

3.) After his hernia surgery we see no real progress for 6 months compared to his amazing shreded pics from before which he acheived in 6 months after he began lifting. Why didnt he acomplish the same results after coming back from surgery? hmmmm.......

4.) On 12/6/2004 we see water retention, maybe its creatine - but I also notice the begining of male breast development in his left chest. To the user viewing his pics, its the right chest. On 1/6/2005 we see the breast tissue expand significantly. His right chest seems not to be afflicted. Not uncommon when gyno sets in due to steroid use.

5.) from 12/6/2004 to 3/6/2005 we see his second steroids cycle. His muscle are fuller and rounder leading me to believe he took a bulking steroids like sustenon250.

6.) from 4/6/2005 to 9/1/2005 we see his results from natural training. he stopped his cycle sometime on 03-2005 - we see loss of definition, muscle become flat. He isnt holding water anymore.

7.) On 10-2005 he starts his 3rd cycle, it looks to me like he stacked here. Notice the increase in muscle mass again. Again we see his muscle are fuller and smooth - water retention. The cycle ends on 3/1/2006 - Notice his extended belly??

8.)We see loss of muscle mass from 4/1/2006 to 8/1/2006 - again he is working out naturally.

9.) On 9/1/2006 we see a jump in muscle mass from the previous month. He prob started his cycle the month before - this is his 4th cycle. Notice the breast development in the left chest ( if user is viewing, your right)

10) from 9/1/2006 until the end of the pics we see him on his cycle.

Conclusion: this guy is juiceer- maybe not as much as pro bodybuilders, but more than likely a light steroids user , prob because he cant afford the stack the pros use - steroids are freakin expensive. A 4-5 month cycle usually runs 500 bucks. And the was I describe his progress he seems to cycle on/off every 4-5 months every year. Four cycles for four years.

Justitia:

BillBsss... there is no way you are a bodybuilder and make comments like you did. John's gain is perfectly normal SLOW muscle gain over 4 YEARS of hard work. He cycles, bulking in the fall by gaining weight and lifting out so that as much of the weight gain as possible is going to build muscle and as little as possible goes on as fat. This takes special monitoring of one's food both as to composition of meals and timing of them. There is no way to bulk without putting some fat on, it is the price to pay for gaining muscle. So he loses definition and becomes bloated looking because of the unavoidable fat gain during the bulk. But my suspicions are that you probably know that bloated look from high body fat quite well, just without any muscle to accompany it... because despite your claims of being a body builder... you obviously have no idea how to build a body. lol

Then in the spring he goes on a "cut." That means one adjusts one's food in a manner to a. lose weight and b. to do it in a way that minimizes muscle loss and maximizes the weight loss coming from fat. A different nutrition regimen but always heavy weight lifting and in this case cardio as well as it enhances fat-burning (which is why runners are so lean.) Losing weight causes some muscle loss, it is unavoidable, but properly managed through diet and weights and cardio, it is mostly fat that comes off. So during the cut he starts losing the body-fat, loses a little muscle, he starts to look more "cut" so you see more muscle definition in his body.

He maintains during the summer. This still requires management of his nutrition and weight-lifting and what cardio is necessary SO he stays "cut" and about the same muscle size throughout the summer.... then he starts all over again in the fall: bulk to mid winter, cut during spring til summer, maintain during summer.

Over 4 years, he has averaged 9 pounds of muscle gain per year. Just astounding isn't it. Why I am sure you, Billbass can gain more than 9 pounds in a year, but I bet it ain't all muscle, probably none of it is muscle... it is probably all fat... too bad for you...

Each year he net gains a little more muscle mass, so that the next cut, there is more muscle to show.

And he has kept this discipline up for 4 years. You can read his logs.

The big question is: Can you match his discipline...? I think not, if you are really trying to be a bodybuilder and can't even match his gains... you probably miss more workouts than you do them, you probably just do bench presses and cable pulls and other upper body work if you do anything at all.. and never do squats where you drop your thighs below the parallel with the floor with 100 or more pounds on your shoulders. And don't do deadlifts with a couple 100 pounds on your Bar bell (I personally squat 85 lbs and deadlift 95 lbs and I am a 59 year old woman and I only have a fraction of the dedication of John -- you want a contest? you bodybuilder you?)

But then Billbass, you know how to do all this, and have done this yourself... because you are a bodybuilder too HAH!!! (jerk!)

nice... shows me how easy it is to get my tummy smaller... but you shouldnt have taken the steroids later... its very unhealthy...

Well done !

ok let's get serious to all the people accusing this guy of steroids. We're talking about 4 YEARS of work, not an overnight transformation. He obviously made up his mind that he wasn't happy w/ the way his body looked, so he paid his dues at the gym. Why would anyone go through all this trouble to make a fake website and take all these pics??? It's clear that many of you don't know a damn thing about bodybuilding, nor the things you can accomplish when you're willing to bust your balls to achieve your goals. Congrats on your gains man, don't let these clowns discourage you.

Markus Johansson:

Great work buddy, been doing my own training regime the last 5 months and truly enjoy it.

Maybe on drugs? Howcome can he lose that weight just on the first 4 f*cking days?

Dumbass - each of those photos is a MONTH apart, not a day.

This is amazing! I so want to do this as well! How do you do this with work and other commitments? I would have to stop working, no TV, and a strict diet. I applaud yoU!

A Hill:

Honestly the complaints here come from a weird mix of people.
1. Lets start by explaining steroids to the people who like that word. Steroids would get him to year 4 by the end of year 1, as long as he ate well enough. I've known 5-6 people who did it during high school, and with light steroids as opposed to injectables. So people crying steroids, either do not work out, or do and are probably very frustrated because they do not know how to build/eat properly or they have REALLY worthless genetics.
2. People saying photoshop. Go to the site, he has lots more pictures anyhow when I went to see if this allegation was true. I can't say that it wasn't photoshopped, because if someone is good, then it can be way too hard to tell. BUT I will say that if it is photoshopped you cannot discern either, I've done lots of graphic design, you could be talking about a smudge on the lense for all you know. ALSO, some of you are saying that he could now have held the same stance every photo.... guess not, but the 48 random models he used to paste his face on sure did a great job. Strong arguement.

Someone also claimed he could not cut down that fast. Once again, low carbs at night, running everyday with a negative calorie intake, I have dropped 25 pounds in 30 days before, while remaining hydrated. I am younger than this guy but lets be honest, given good genes and how much effort he would put into his HIIT training it is easily possible.

SOOOO guys I would suggest you use this as motivation as opposed to looking for a way to discredit it. 4 years is a long time, and he clearly has taken the workouts seriously enough to both make the photo journal and to work hard at transforming himself.

Norway:

Very impressive, but you shouldn't have started taking steroids in november 2004. That was when you were best looking and most natural. That was what you could get naturally, the rest is just pills. :P

Mike:

@ Norway
Do you really think that nov. 2004 is all he could get naturally?
I don't think so, because most of natural bodybuilders need a lot of years to reach their genetic limit.
I don't say that I
'm not thinking that he took roids.
But what I'm trying to say is that Nov. 2004 is not even in the near of his genetic limit.

But what is with 4/1/2007 and 5/1/2007? I want to see how much muscles and defination you gained!

Btw: Excuse my bad english, I'm german ^^

Blake:

You guys could always read his web page.

In 04 He didn't start on steriods, he upgraded his home gym.

He had been using a bench, dumbells and barbells, and then he got a 8k home gym system.

It is a big pet peeve of his actually. He hates steroids, doesn't think anyone should touch them, and has never used them.

They're real. I know nothing about body building but I've done compositing in photoshop professionally. Look at the shape of his stomach over time, identical. Look at his nipples, where they're at on his chest. Definetely the same person in every shot.

Many of the images look very similar, like heads were reused on several different bodies etc. but look closer. They're different.

cms:

are these picture for real?

keith:

as i see it,some of these folks are jealous for the simple reason they lack motivation, discipline and pride.these are most likely the kind of people while reading this there pig face is gulping down mcdonalds and chips while guys like him and me are working out hard in the gym take pride and self discipline and the end result is looking so good that we usually take your lady out for a good nite of fun while she tells you that shes out with her friends.so go on with your ill remarks and go fill your beer guzzlin gut so much that your now a member of the dicky do club(belly sticks out further than your dicky do)and we'll just keep lookin good and keepin the ladies comin our way!!
